REGIONAL CAMPUS DIRECTOR

The Florida Democratic Party is expanding our team in advance of 2020 and is seeking a Regional Campus Director to coordinate voter engagement activities on the numerous college campuses across the state of Florida. This position is full-time (approximately 50-60 hours/week), and will require work during nontraditional hours (nights and weekends).

The Regional Campus Director role will involve a significant amount of travel within the state, and applicants located in all parts of Florida are encouraged to apply.


Description of Duties

    • Work with existing Democratic Party infrastructure to conduct voter outreach, engagement, and voter registration on Florida's many college campuses.
    • Manage and provide support for existing outreach programs on college campuses.
    • Assist with identifying and recruiting potential future field organizers.
    • Conduct outreach to campus community leaders and progressive organizations.
    • Assist with local and regional on-site event operations.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Qualifications and Skills

    • Experience in community organizing, legislative, public affairs, sociology, or policy‑oriented environment including issue or electoral campaigns, advocacy or related experience.
    • Demonstrated experience in community organizing and legislative/political/electoral work.
    • Excellent relationship building skills and strong knowledge of your local community.
    • Experience working and effectively developing leadership within underserved communities and communities of color.
    • Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders of diverse backgrounds and socio-economic levels.
    • Self-motivation, professionalism and a positive demeanor.
    • Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills.
    • Extremely organized.
    • Knowledge of Google Suite.
    • Ability to work outside of typical business hours, including nights and weekends
    • Committed to details, results, and consistent improvement.
    • A strong commitment to Democratic ideals and issues.
    • Deep knowledge of NGP VAN / Votebuilder.
    • Proficiency in Spanish or Creole preferred.


    Logistics

    • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable mode of transportation and the ability to travel at times throughout the state for more than a day at a time.
    • Must have access to a working smartphone and laptop.
    • Must have the ability to regularly lift and carry 25 lbs.


    Salary and Benefits

    The Florida Democratic Party offers a competitive salary with the opportunity for growth. Yearly salary for the organizer position is $45,600 in addition to benefits. The position is currently slated through March 31, 2020 and may be renewed through November 8, 2020.
