The Florida Democratic Party (FDP) is expanding its team in 2020 and is seeking a Deputy Digital Director - Hispanic Voter Outreach. The Deputy Digital Director will be a key member in assisting the Digital Team in working to execute​ FDP's digital strategy. This role will focus on digital engagement specifically within the Hispanic community. This will include the execution of social media strategy, digital voter contact, and overseeing general digital work such as content creation ​and ad placements with a strong focus on Hispanic media outreach. This position is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Description of Duties

      • Assist Digital Director and Deputy Communications Director in executing digital strategy across several issue-based campaigns with a strong focus on reaching Hispanic voters: Writing, editing, and designing content for the FDP website, social media accounts, working with FDP outside vendors on website issues.
      • Building digital coalitions with like-minded organizations to further our reach and mission.
      • Writing, editing and producing content for the party’s Spanish speaking email list in collaboration with partners and vendors.
      • Working with the Digital Director and Deputy Communications Director to build digital strategy and increase the reach of the FDP Spanish-language social media accounts.
      • Working with the Digital Director to assist in social media campaigns as needed.
      • Working with the Digital Director, Field Team and Communications Team to execute strong messaging for Hispanic voter outreach.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications and Skills

      • A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, digital outreach, design, or other related field desirable.
      • One election cycle or more experience in Hispanic voter outreach.
      • Must be able to fluently read and write in Spanish.
      • Strong writer.
      • Experience in graphic design, social media management, and strategic communications.
      • Digital experience in working with CRMs.
      • Experience seeking and working with digital/coalition partners on collaborative projects.
      • Strong knowledge about the state of Florida and its population diversity.
      • Strong campaign and technical acumen, with the ability to quickly understand and communicate technical concepts and challenges to wide-ranging audiences.
      • Diligent Work Ethic: our team will work long hours, especially as we get closer to election day. We will prioritize working smart but we will also work hard.
      • Good Listener: many of our colleagues don't come from a technical background. They won't always know what's possible or even what to ask us for. Part of your job is to listen closely, use common sense, and discern their true needs so that we can solve real problems.

      • Working knowledge of Google Suite.
      • Ability to work outside of typical business hours, including nights and weekends

      • A strong commitment to Democratic ideals and issues.
      • Experience with NGP VAN / Votebuilder a plus.

      Preferred Qualifications

        • One cycle of campaign experience in Digital or Communications preferred.
        • Experience in digital engagement and advocacy-based list-building and paid acquisition preferred.


        • Must have a valid driver license, reliable mode of transportation and the ability to travel extensively at times throughout the state for more than a day at a time.
        • Must be able to travel outside of the state, often for several days at a time, to trainings and events.
        • Office hours are 9:30 – 6:30, Monday through Friday. However, evening and weekend hours will be needed regularly; there will often be very long work hours after the Democratic National Convention. Specific schedules will be determined as needs dictate.
        • Must have the ability to bend, stoop and lift regularly, stand for long periods of time and carry 25 lbs.

        Salary & Benefits

        The Florida Democratic Party offers a competitive salary and benefit package with the opportunity for growth, salary range is $48,000 to $58,000 commensurate with experience including excellent health, dental, vision and life insurance paid fully by the employer. The position is currently slated through November 30, 2020 and may be renewed for permanency.
